I first got pictures of this buck in 2021 season. A beautiful chocolate rack 10 point. I also seen this buck while walking up to my stand… chasing a doe the other way. It was a spot with no stand and I had nothing set up yet for a gun rest… I decided to throw down my back pack and lay down to possibly try for a shot.
Once I was set up I looked in the scope with the sun beaming straight down the lane. I yelled at him and everything and he just wouldn’t stop. When he would, it would be hard to make out with the sun.. bad luck.
After that I never saw him again, not even on camera. I run nearly 30 SPYPOINT cameras on this property. I thought he got shot with all the day light pictures I had of him. After that he went ghost for 4 years… At that time I had aged him to be around 3 1/2+. This would put him at 7 1/2+.
Fast forward to November 1, 2025 when he shows up at my stand feeding with a doe. It was late in the morning around 10:10. I had just texted my husband to slowly make his way to pick me up. Then seeing a doe walk in the lane. I texted him not to come anymore. Then he walked out. Walking straight to me feeding. He stayed that way for 10 minutes. It was the longest 10 minutes of my life waiting for him to turn. But helped calm me down before taking a shot.
Once I took the shot with my 7mag Sako he jumped really high then went into the woods. I waited 30 minutes for a friend with a dog and we found him not ever 15 yards in the woods!
